Marketing to left vs. right handed people

Interesting marketing fact:  Lefties tend to like things on the left hand side of a page, right handed folks tend to choose items on the right side.

People were asked to look at a page with two animals and asked to pick which one looked nicer or smarter or cuter, participants tended to choose the animal on their dominant side by a significant percentage.

So if you’re marketing a left handed mouse, or have a website devoted to southpaws, you might want to keep this in mind, a few changes in design elements might be useful.  For instance, a left handed person might feel more inclined to click on a button placed to the left of a product vs one on the right…  Just a thought.
